Local Moving Services

Based in Chicopee, Pioneer Moving provides local moving services to all of Western Massachusetts, Northern Connecticut, and Southern Vermont.

Local Moving

At Pioneer Moving, we know that moving can be complicated and stressful. On top of physically moving all of your worldly possessions, you also have to coordinate changing your mail address, enrolling your kids in a new school system, cancelling or moving all of your utilities services, arrange for time off at work, and deal with all of the person issues as to why you are moving in the first place.

In a recent survey by the US Census Bureau, most moves are hyper local with nearly 66% of all local moves happening with the same county. This means if you are going to try and move yourself, on top of dealing with all of the stressors mentioned above, you now to have to deal with renting a truck, begging friends and family to help you move, miss more work, physically move all of your furniture and boxes, and somehow still find a way to get all of you packing done.

Reasons why People Move Locally

Our goal at Pioneer Moving is to make the moving process as easy as possible. By incorporating state of the art technology with our moving experience, we are able to simplify the moving experience by making our system as user friendly as possible, increasing communication, and making customer service our top priority. We know moving is stressful and physically demanding, let us help you make life easier.

How do I book Pioneer as my Local Mover?

Step 1: Book Survey Appointment

In order to give an accurate estimate, our moving coordinator will have to see what is moving either virtually or in-person. By seeing what you plan to move, we can accurately estimate the size of the truck needed to hold your items, the number of movers needed to move your items, and the number of hours needed to complete the move.

Step 2: The Moving Survey

During this survey, our moving coordinator collect an inventory of all the items being moved, all the items not being moved, as well as any special instructions or information needed to ensure a smooth local moving service. A moving survey is paramount for an accurate moving estimate.

Step 3: Schedule the Move

Once your survey is completed and a moving estimate has been provided to you, the next step of the moving process is to book your local moving services. You can book the move by getting back to your moving coordinator directly or by giving the main office a call. It is important to give as much notice as possible when booking your move. Most movers book out weeks in advance.

Step 4: Pre-Move Meeting

The pre move meeting is typically done 2-4 days before your planned moving date. The goal behind the pre-move meeting is to follow up with the move plan and make note of any last minute changes. It is not uncommon at the last minute to need packing what you couldn’t finish or for an item that wasn’t supposed to move to now move. This meeting can be done in person (preferably) via phone call, or email conversation.

Step 5: Moving Day

Now is moving day, we do recommend that someone be onsite for the move. The Movers typically will have questions about what is moving, what isn’t moving, and where to place the furniture.

Besides that, all you have to do is get a coffee, pull up a chair and watch us work. That was easy!
