Whether you are moving 300 miles or 3,000 miles we all can agree moving can be stressful and overwhelming. In a recent analysis by United Van Lines, Massachusetts (7) and Connecticut (4) ranked in the top 10 of outbound moving states. The primary reason for each states are Lifestyle (30%) and retirement (30%).

In that same study, it does also mention the states most frequently moved too. These numbers are based on the percentage of Inbound / outbound traffic for each state and not the total number of moves. Which that said, if people are moving into these states and not moving out, that’s very telling.

How do I book Pioneer as my Long Distance Mover?

Long Distance Movers

Step 1: Book Survey Appointment

In order to give an accurate estimate, our moving coordinator will have to see what is moving either virtually or in-person. By seeing what you plan to move, we can accurately estimate the size of the truck needed to hold your items, the number of movers needed to move your items, and the number of hours needed to complete the move.

Moving Survey

Step 2: Moving Survey

During this survey, our moving coordinator collect an inventory of all the items being moved, all the items not being moved, as well as any special instructions or information needed to ensure a smooth Long Distance Moving service.

Step 3: Schedule the Move

Once your survey is completed and a moving estimate has been provided to you, the next step of the moving process is to book your long distance moving service. You can book the move by getting back to your moving coordinator directly or by giving the main office a call.

Pre-move meeting

Step 4: Pre-Move Meeting

The pre move meeting is typically done 2-4 days before your planned moving date. The goal behind the pre-move meeting is to follow up with the move plan and make note of any last minute changes. It is not uncommon at the last minute to need packing of what you couldn’t finish or for an item that wasn’t supposed to move to now move.

Step 5: Moving Day

Now is moving day, we do recommend that someone be onsite for the move. The Movers typically will have questions about what is moving, what isn’t moving, and to sign paperwork.

Besides that, all you have to do is get a coffee, pull up a chair and watch us work. That was easy!
